CAROLINA BEACH -- Movie-goers at "Movies at the Lake" did not just get to see the movie, they got to meet the star.

Hundreds of star-struck fans showed up at Carolina Beach Lake Park Sunday night to meet One Tree Hill star Moira Kelly.

Kelly's 1992 film The Cutting Edge was on the big screen. But before the movie began, the star met with her local fans, passed out autographed headshots and answered questions about filming One Tree Hill and The Cutting Edge.

Kelly said it usually took her a while to warm up to large crowds, but she was excited to meet her local fans in person.

"When you start to realize that this is your audience, and somehow something that you've done, something you've been a part of, has touched them, entertained them or made an impact, it's a nice thing to know, " said Kelly. "It's nice to actually meet those people face-to-face."

The new season of One Tree Hill will begin airing on September 27 on the CW Network.
