Asking DB:
Did you enjoy filming the Cutting Edge? DB Sweeney: The
Cutting Edge was a very difficult film to produce cause when
you watch figure skating on TV the camera is interested in
the whole body and doesn't get into a tight close up. When
you're in a movie, you need to know what's going on inside
that person and when you're going to spend 90 minutes with a
character, you need to get inside their eyes. So, the
technical challenge of getting the camera close enough
during the skating was daunting. But, it paid off. Asking DB: Did Moira
do her own skating? DB Sweeney: Moira
broke her leg ... in the scene in the bar, she has her leg
in a cast and she's being steered around in a camera dolly
and she out dances me! So, I was out danced by a girl with a
broken leg! She was very disappointed ...But Sharon Carz ...
was Moira's double and she looks so much like her so they
were able to use her for a great deal of the film.
