In the brief moments before a hate crime, a young woman
imagines her escape. Through a dramatic chase sequence through
a city park, A Woman Reported... lyrically illustrates
the woman’s imaginary journey from the violent hands of her
attackers into the safety of her girlfriend’s arms.
Emotionally gripping and extremely intense, the short film
focuses on the woman’s will to survive and her determination
to return to her loved one.

Information |
Chris J. Russo's award-winning
short films have screened at hundreds of film festivals worldwide
and on cable television. Her recently completed 35mm short, A
WOMAN REPORTED· is an official selection of the 2004 SUNDANCE FILM
FESTIVAL and stars Moira Kelly (WB's One Tree Hill, The Safety of
Objects,The West Wing, Chaplin). In 2002 Chris wrote and directed,
Size 'em Up, a 35mm short film featuring Julie Brown, Stella
Stevens and Leisha Hailey, which is currently licensed and airing
on both SHOWTIME and the Women's Entertainment Network.
In 2003, Chris was a finalist in
the IFP Director's Lab for a feature script she hopes to direct,
co-written by Kelly Hankin titled, Directed By Dorothy Arzner,
which examines the life and career of legendary film director
Dorothy Arzner. Both writers hold a three-year option on the book
of the same title, written by Judith Mayne. Chris has won audience
awards for Best Short Documentary at both Outfest 2000 and the
2000 Austin Gay & Lesbian Film Festival for her film, Straight
Down the Aisle: Confessions of Lesbian Bridesmaids co-directed by
Kelly Hankin. In addition to writing and directing, Chris works
with television producers, studio executives and cinematographers
on a daily basis in her role as Production Executive for Eastman
Kodak Company in Hollywood.
